Use the Edit menu to
• Copy • Move • Delete • Select
text in the active window
• Round off or truncate numbers
• Format text in the Input window
• Customize the SPSS session (Preferences)
UNDO (Z)
Undoes the most recent edit.
For example, if you enter text in the
wrong place, select Undo to delete it.
REDO (Z)
Reverses Undo.
CUT (X)
Removes selected text from the active
window and stores it on the clipboard,
from which you can retrieve it with Paste.
The cut information remains on the clipboard
until replaced by another Cut or Copy.
COPY (C)
Copies selected text from the active
window and stores it on the clipboard,
from which you can retrieve it with Paste.
The copied information remains on the
clipboard until replaced by another Cut
or Copy.
PASTE (V)
Copies the contents of the clipboard
(from by Cut or Copy or another application)
into the active window,
beginning at the cursor position.
The clipboard contents are not affected.
Thus, you can paste them again.
Paste does not cause lines to wrap.
The maximum length for a single line
is 255 characters.
CLEAR
Clears selected text from the active
window, without storing it on the clipboard.
Use Clear to erase information from the
active window.
ROUND
Rounds off or truncates numbers within
selected text in the active window.
You can specify the number of decimal places.
SELECT COMMANDS IN THE INPUT WINDOW
• Select Command
Selects the command containing the
insertion point, even if some lines
of the command are above.
• Select Current to End
Selects multiple commands,
beginning with the command containing the
insertion point (even if some lines of the
command are above) and ending with the
last command in the input window.
• Select All
Selects all commands in the input window.
SELECT TEXT IN THE OUTPUT WINDOW
• Select Current to End
Selects all text beginning at the
insertion point.
• Select All
Selects all text in the Output Window.
PREFERENCES
• Workspace
You can change the number of kilobytes
or check the box for automatic allocation.
• Rearrange windows
X means Input window goes to the bottom
of the screen when Command Generator opens.
• Width of new window
You can specify the width, depending on
your monitor.
• Temporary files
Temporary work files will be placed in the
Macintosh System Folder or SPSS Folder.
Quit SPSS and start it again for Workspace
Preferences changes to take effect.
